The drop in vent cover is fit for 6x12 inch duct opening on flooring. The floor register vent can drop in duct opening on existing floor. It sits on top of flooring, surface mounted on flooring. Louvered design is easy for air flow. Not recommended to be installed in high traffic area. With adjustable sliding damper on backside of oak floor register, the damper can be removed by bending two tabs on itself.
